<p>There were 858 lots in this auction, including the following Olympic memorabilia:  a highly collectible 1976 Innsbruck gold medal prototype, 1896 Athens Official Report (English and Greek), IOC Session Badges and autographed Olympic memorabilia.</p>
<p>Also included in this auction were the following Participation Medals: 1906 Athens, 1912 Stockholm, 1924 Paris, 1928 Amsterdam, 1936 Berlin; 1952 Helsinki, 1956 Melbourne, 1956 Cortina (silver), 1960 Rome, 1964 Tokyo, 1968 Grenoble, 1968 Mexico City, 1976 Montreal, 1980 Lake Placid, 1980 Moscow, 1984 Sarajevo, 1984 Los Angeles, 1988 Calgary, 1988 Seoul, 1992 Barcelona, 1994 Lillehammer, 1996 Atlanta, 1998 Nagano, 2000 Sydney, 2004 Athens, 2006 Torino, 2008 Beijing and 2010 Vancouver; Official Reports for the following Games: 1932 Lake Placid, 1976 Montreal and 1998 Nagano (Japanese).</p>

<p>There were 594 lots in this auction, included are the following items of Olympic memorabilia: Participant Medals for 1908 London, 1912 Stockholm, 1924 Paris, 1932 Los Angeles, 1936 Berlin, 1948 London, 1952 Helsinki, 1964 Innsbruck, 1964 Tokyo, 1968 Grenoble, 1976 Montreal, 1980 Lake Placid, 1980 Moscow, 1984 Los Angeles, 1988 Seoul, 1992 Barcelona, 1994 Lillehammer, 1996 Atlanta, 2000 Sydney, 2002 Salt Lake City, 2004 Athens and 2008 Beijing. Official Olympic torches for 1996 Atlanta and 2006 Torino.</p>
<p>Also in the auction were Offical Reports for 1932 Lake Placid, 1976 Montreal, 1984 Los Angeles and 1998 Nagano, a collection of 17 autographs of the 1948 London Canadian Men&#8217;s Basketball Team (including coaches), 1924 Paris Competitor&#8217;s Badge, 1932 Los Angeles Badge for Head Gateman, IOC Session badges, 1928 Amsterdam cloisonne tile (highlighted on the front cover of this catalog), plates, programs, tickets, patches, vases and much more.</p>
<p>The back cover of the catalog was dedicated to the 1928 Amsterdam Summer Olympic Games. This was the first time, the Olympic Flame was lit during the Olympic Games. The flame burned in the Olympic Cauldron (Marathon) during the Games at the Olympic Stadium. The torch relay, however, would not occur until the 1936 Summer Olympics</p>

<p>Gold Medal Collectibles (GMC) Auction No. 8 closed on Saturday, <strong>October 18, 2008, at 3 p.m., PT.</strong> There were 555 lots in this auction, included are the following items of Olympic memorabilia: 1948 London - Collection of 17 autographs of the Canadian Men&#8217;s Basketball Team (including coaches), 1924 Paris Competitor&#8217;s Badge, 2008 Beijing Participant Medal, 1984 Los Angeles Participant Medal, 1912 Stockholm Official Report, 1932 Los Angeles - Head Gateman and Official Programs Badges, 1932 Lake Placid Official Report, 1976 Montreal Official Report, 1998 Nagano Official Report, 1996 Atlanta torch, music sheets, records, plates, programs, tickets, patches, vases and much more.</p>
<p><strong>The sale of Lester B. Steven&#8217;s personal collection of Olympic memorabilia is also being offered in the current auction.</strong> Lester Stevens (USA) competed in the 1908 London Olympic Games. A few of the items being offered are as follows: American Olympic Committee Certificate, 1908 London Participant Badge and Medal, New York City&#8217;s Homecoming Medal for the American Team and his US Olympic Team Cap. Most of these items have never been listed in an auction and are extremely rare.</p>
<p>The back cover of the catalog was dedicated to the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympic Games.</p>
