GMC Auction 8 Catalog

Gold Medal Collectibles (GMC) Auction No. 8 closed on Saturday, October 18, 2008, at 3 p.m., PT. There were 555 lots in this auction, included are the following items of Olympic memorabilia: 1948 London - Collection of 17 autographs of the Canadian Men’s Basketball Team (including coaches), 1924 Paris Competitor’s Badge, 2008 Beijing Participant Medal, 1984 Los Angeles Participant Medal, 1912 Stockholm Official Report, 1932 Los Angeles - Head Gateman and Official Programs Badges, 1932 Lake Placid Official Report, 1976 Montreal Official Report, 1998 Nagano Official Report, 1996 Atlanta torch, music sheets, records, plates, programs, tickets, patches, vases and much more.

The sale of Lester B. Steven’s personal collection of Olympic memorabilia is also being offered in the current auction. Lester Stevens (USA) competed in the 1908 London Olympic Games. A few of the items being offered are as follows: American Olympic Committee Certificate, 1908 London Participant Badge and Medal, New York City’s Homecoming Medal for the American Team and his US Olympic Team Cap. Most of these items have never been listed in an auction and are extremely rare.

The back cover of the catalog was dedicated to the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympic Games.

The back cover of the catalog was dedicated to the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games.

The auction consisted of 256 lots. Including an Official Report from 1912 Stockholm Summer Olympic Games. torches, medals, plush mascots, badges, tickets, patches, plates, postcards, programs, posters, bid books, pins, and much more.

As will be our tradition, the back cover of the catalog was dedicated to an Olympic host city. The back cover was dedciated to the 1932 and 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympic Games.
